Rockhampton community encouraged to embrace active and healthy lifestyle in 2024

Rockhampton Regional Council is encouraging its community to kick-start their fitness resolutions and embrace an active and healthy lifestyle in 2024 by registering for the 16th annual 7Rocky River Run to be held on 19th May.

Parks, Sports and Public Spaces Councillor Cherie Rutherford shared “now is the perfect time to register and be a part of the region's most anticipated fundraising event. All levels of fitness are encouraged to register - you can run, walk, wheel, or stroll, or mix a few in each race distance.

“Making any lifestyle change can be challenging. Many people find that having a goal in mind like 7Rocky River Run gives them something to work towards and motivates them to stay on track.

“Why not grab a group of friends or colleagues together and make this challenge a shared experience with discounts available for team bookings.”

Advance Rockhampton Tourism and Events Manager, Zac Garven, highlighted the charitable aspect of the event, with Fitzroy Community Hospice the charity recipient for 2024.

Garven added “7Rocky River Run not only promises a challenging race experience for all fitness levels but also serves as a fantastic way to support our community. We encourage locals to invite friends and families to visit and participate in a race for a good cause.”

Seven Central Queensland is the naming rights sponsor of the 2024 7Rocky River Run, with Buddy’s Fire as the 5KM Race Sponsor and Serenity Dental Rockhampton as the 2KM Race Sponsor.

To be part of the event, register for 7Rocky River Run at www.rockyriverrun.com.au
