Robert Irwin announced as first major speaker for WTTC Global Summit in Perth
Australian conservationist and wildlife photographer Robert Irwin (son of the late Australian environmentalist and television personality Steve Irwin), is the first major speaker to be announced for the three-day World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit being held from 8th to 10th October at Crown Perth.
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit, brings together leaders from across the globe to discuss issues affecting tourism, trade and travel.
The 2024 Summit is the first time the world-renowned conference has ever been held in Australia and is anticipated to elevate Western Australia as an emerging global leader in travel, tourism and trade.
The theme for the 2024 Global Summit is 'Ancient Land: New Perspectives' with the event to showcase Western Australia's cultural heritage and incredible natural offerings.
The WTTC Global Summit is supported by the WA Government in partnership with Business Events Perth and Business Events Australia, with the event one of several high-profile business events secured for Perth over 2024/25, alongside G'Day Australia, 2025 Virtuoso Australia & New Zealand Forum and Routes Asia 2025.
Western Australia Tourism Minister, Rita Saffioti noted "Robert Irwin is a household Australian name so we're very excited to have secured him for this prestigious event.
"Robert's passion for wildlife and nature definitely make him an ideal speaker for this event, and I have no doubt he'll be a major drawcard for attendees.
"We're really proud to be supporting this high-profile business event which will spotlight Western Australia as an emerging global leader, showcase our State's incredible natural landscapes while also elevating new tourism investment opportunities.
"Of course, with business delegate spend generally being up to five times more than the average leisure visitor, there are also major economic benefits to be realised from events like WTTC, which is why we continue to invest and focus on attracting these to WA alongside our other major events."
