Renewed sponsorship to drive tennis development in regional Western Australia

Western Australian grain growers cooperative CBH Group has renewed its sponsorship of Tennis West, the state’s governing body for the sport.

The two-year renewal will focus on country tennis in Western Australia through supporting regional programs and by providing resources to grow the game outside metropolitan areas.

A key aspect of the partnership will the naming rights to the Tennis West Country Tour, which offers clinics and competitions in grain-growing communities across WA over a week each year.

CBH Group also backs the Country Tennis Championships as its naming rights partner. The three-day Perth tournament will celebrate its 100th year in 2023. CBH has partnered these championships for a decade.

Stating that sport was an integral part of the lives of regional communities and that Tennis West wants to continue to grow the opportunities available for players around the state, Tennis West Chief Executive, Brett Patten advised “the talent that is emerging from our regions is simply exceptional and we look forward to supporting these players in their development as they continue their tennis journey.

“The CBH Group Country Championships is always a fantastic display of tennis and we’re looking to build on this event to make it bigger and stronger to ensure this is a significant event on the tennis calendar for many more years to come.”

CBH Group’s Chief External Relations Officer David Paton said the co-operative is proud to continue its support of Tennis West, noting “our partnership with Tennis West will continue to foster participation and provide opportunities for up-and-coming athletes in our regional communities.

“In addition to this, is the broader community benefit, with sports such as tennis playing an important role in helping to improve health, wellbeing and connection in our regional communities.”
