Through the program, the Western Australian Government is investing $4.2 million over three years to help visitor centres remain viable in the changing tourism landscape.
More than $1 million was available in the 2016/17 round to assist regional visitor centres throughout Western Australia with sustainability initiatives such as accreditation, renewable energy, on-site attractions, technology and interior redesign.
Grants between $40,000 and $100,000 were available In the 2016/17 round for accredited visitor centres or local government authorities while grants between $5,000 and $40,000 were available to non-accredited centres working towards accreditation.
