Red Centre’s Wide Open Space festival offers diverse performances amid desert culture

The popular Red Centre festival ‘Wide Open Space’, taking place from 28th to 30th April at Ross River Resort, has released the first line-up for the event, with Territory artists and a diverse range of performances, arts, workshops, and desert culture.

The festival will treat attendees to a vibrant mix of culture, arts and music set among the stunning MacDonnell Ranges on Eastern Arrernte Country.

The festival's picturesque setting at Ross River Resort offers camping onsite, safe kids’ spaces, impressive food stalls, market stalls, amenities, a pool, a historical homestead, and plenty of shady areas to relax and take in the spectacular views.

Territory artists include Emcille X Kuya James, Eastern Arrernte Band, Eylandt Band and Jessie May & the Hay Days with the festival showcasing a range of subcultures, styles and sounds. Festival-goers will also enjoy burlesque, cabaret, spoken word, panel discussions and more.

Supported by the Northern Territory Government through Northern Territory Major Events Company, ‘Wide Open Space’ is a popular event in the heart of Australia that consistently provides a memorable experience for visitors who come from across the country.

Festival co-director Jimmy Cocking enthused “we're thrilled to have such a diverse range of artists. From TEK TEK Ensemble to Eylandt Band, we’re bringing together an incredible range of talent from across Australia and beyond.

“We’re proud to present a festival that celebrates the irrepressible human spirit and the beauty of the Australian outback. We can't wait to welcome attendees to the heart of Australia for an unforgettable experience. This is just the beginning of what's shaping up to be our best festival yet.”
