LiveLighter Arab Festival to attract thousands from across the community
Hosted by the Australian Arab Association, the LiveLighter Arab Festival kicks off in Perth on 25th February in Burswood Park and is anticipated to attract thousands from across the community.
This family friendly festival will feature performances, market stalls, food and cultural exhibitions showcasing the rich and vibrant cultures of Arab communities in Western Australia and the Arabic speaking world.
Visitors are offered opportunities to sip Arabic coffee, relax after a day spent searching for treasures in a bustling souk and even ride a camel as the sun sets over the Swan River.
Supported by the Western Australian Government via funding through the Office of Multicultural Interests and Healthway, the LiveLighter Arab Festival provides an opportunity for everyone to experience and learn more about the many Arab communities of WA.
WA Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Minister Dr Tony Buti notes “Arab culture is as diverse as it is spectacular. The exciting Australian Arab Festival will be a great day out for the whole family with something for everyone to enjoy.
“The Australian Arab Festival is becoming one of Western Australia’s major cultural highlights, joining our exciting list of annual community celebrations.
“Large cultural festivals like this provide a great opportunity to show the contribution our culturally and linguistically diverse communities make to the State.”
