Rebel to launch first South Australian experience concept store at Rundle Mall
rebel, one of Australia’s leading retailers of sporting equipment and apparel, is launching its first rebel experience concept store in South Australia at Rundle Mall, on Thursday 7th April.
rebel Rundle Mall is the ninth Australian experience store to be rolled out nationally by the retail chain, and the first flagship CBD experience store in Australia, as rebel continues to invest in the expansion of their physical stores.
Highlighting the confidence rebel has in the South Australian sports retail market, the major expansion and redesign of rebel Rundle Mall now sees the store housed over three levels, increasing in size by 80%.
Showcasing an elevated in-store experience to inspire customers, it offers the latest in global sporting looks and state-of-the-art technology, as well as incorporating interactive zones. The store brings a complete sports retail experience under one roof to create a landmark sport retail destination.
Phil Grillo, State Retail Manager VIC/TAS/SA rebel enthused “we are thrilled to open our first flagship CBD experience store in Adelaide that will inspire customers to chase their sporting dreams and passion, which is the ethos of what we do at rebel. The new rebel flagship CBD experience store focuses on digital innovation, inspiring customers at every available touch point throughout the store that brings the shopping experience to life.”
Ian Hill, Managing Director of Adelaide Economic Development Agency, which manages the Rundle Mall shopping precinct adds “we are thrilled to welcome rebel’s new store to the precinct and know shoppers will enjoy the new, interactive shopping experience the store provides. This store represents a significant investment in Rundle Mall and as rebel’s first customer experience concept store in South Australia, it adds to the many local, national and international brands with flagship stores in the city.”
In the basement of the Rundle Mall store, customers can find the Home of Football where they can try on the latest football boots and test them out on an interactive projected wall featuring games such as 'rebel Football Smash' and 'Beat the Goalie'.
On the ground floor there is a focus on ‘her’, with women’s apparel taking centre stage at the front of the store. Ranges from smaller Australian brands such as Nimble sit alongside global favourites including Nike, Adidas and Under Armour. On the same floor the Energy Zone will bring to life the latest products from the biggest sporting brands each month.
On Level One, the Home of Basketball allows customers to shoot hoops on a customised basketball court with mural backdrop of Lauren Jackson designed by local artist Sam Brooks and Mike Sander. Level One also features World of Running where customers can test out an array of shoes with the help of rebel footwear experts, to ensure they are the right fit and style before they buy. A serviced dumb-waiter speeds up the transport of footwear from the basement level to the rebel team members on the level One footwear department.
The in-store EA Gaming system entertains children and partners while you shop – play as your favourite football or NFL team with FIFA and MADDEN on hand.
rebel Rundle Mall focuses on digital innovation for a premium shopping experience, inspiring customers at every available touch point throughout the store. The new layout is easy to navigate, with well thought-out sporting zones and clever placement of animated screens, captivating visuals and dynamic displays which complement and showcase the in-store brands and products and bring the shopping experience to life.
The dedicated front of house team at rebel Rundle Mall is made up of passionate experts from across a spectrum of sports, including running, fitness, football and basketball. Team members are armed with insider knowledge and expertise to advise customers on brands, as well product performance, style and fit, and provide exceptional service to help all customers achieve their fitness dreams – be they amateur or athlete.
rebel Rundle Mall opens its doors to the public on Thursday 7th April with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion, DJs, Channel Nine Sports Reporter Tom Rehn MCing the event, and AFL Crows players Darcy Fogarty, Daniel Talia and Kane Cornes in attendance.
