rebel and adidas partner with Australian artist to support mind and body wellness

With rebel and adidas sharing a commitment to reinforce the benefits of sport and regular exercise for the mind and body, they have partnered to continue supporting Lifeline with the launch of the ‘Lifeline Collab Collection’ - a six-piece capsule collection designed by Australian artist, Mulga.

The collection highlights the transformative power of sport with 100% of profits from the sale of the collection will be donated to Lifeline to support its vision of an Australia free of suicide.

Powered by rebel and adidas, the Lifeline Collab Collection includes a t-shirt, drink bottle, cap, soccer ball, high bounce ball and tote bag designed by Sydney-based artist, Mulga (Joel Moore), with the artwork drawing on elements that improve his mental health each day - surfing, sunshine, native animals and sport.

Mulga shared “Mental health has been a huge part of my journey, and my daily surf is my therapy. It’s been fantastic to work with rebel to create the Collab Collection - I’m so proud of the collection, and I hope it encourages more Aussies to get active for their mind and body.”

adidas will donate $1 for every adidas product sold at rebel from 3rd – 31st October to Lifeline, and customers are invited to donate to Lifeline online and in any rebel store Australia-wide throughout October in support of World Mental Health Day on 10th October. All money raised will help provide access to timely, quality crisis support for all Australians.

rebel Managing Director, Gary Williams notes “at rebel, we want to normalise conversations about mental health and ensure Aussies know they’re not alone. We know participating in sport can be transformative to physical and mental wellbeing, and at rebel we are proud to provide Aussies with the tools they need to get active. With the support of adidas, this partnership takes this a step further – empowering shoppers to make a real change by donating to Lifeline and spreading awareness about the benefits of exercise for the mind and body.”

Lifeline Chief Executive Colin Seery adds “we’re continuing to see a significant increase in demand for Lifeline’s services across the board. The Collab Collection will not only raise vital funds to ensure we’re supporting Australians anytime, anywhere, it also highlights the positive impact that physical activity and sport can have on our mental health and wellbeing.”

adidas General Manager - Pacific, Steve Castledine shared “At adidas, we believe that sport has the power to change lives, including our own. The benefits of physical activity and the impact it has from playing sport and exercise grounds you and puts you in a more positive place.

“With this collaboration we want to raise awareness for Lifeline and the issue of mental health in Australia and most importantly, raise money for Lifeline and the work they do by the sale of the Collab Collection and adidas products. We want to normalise the conversation around mental health so that those that are suffering feel comfortable to talk about it with those that care for them the most.”

rebel’s ongoing partnership with Lifeline has seen more than $1.19 million raised in donations in the past two years, helping Lifeline bolster its service capability to answer approximately 28,205 life-saving phone calls.
