Adidas announces residency program for ‘Web3-powered’ digital artists
Athleisure conglomerate, adidas has unveiled its first-of-its-kind residency program designed to help foster and amplify the works of Web3 artists.
The ‘Residency by Adidas’ initiative officially kicks off today (6th September) coinciding with Korean Blockchain Week in Seoul.
The program's aim is to foster creativity and innovation, as well as to provide a "creative pathway" for digital artists to connect with the brand and the community of collectors.
This, it said, will be a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase artists and also enable them to engage in collaborations in both the digital and physical realms.
The company introduced Tokyo-based Moto (aka MonkeeMoto) and Lebanese artist Adra Kandil (aka DearNostalgia) - a duo "hand-selected" by the studio.
Two hundred pieces will be available for sale for 0.15ETH (approx $245), with each piece arriving with its own exclusive physical hoodie for conference attendees. The NFT art is also available to purchase via Adidas’ Open-Edition sale, hosted via token platform Manifold, for 0.03ETH (approx $49) each.
