RAS of NSW Appoints New Chief Executive

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) has announced that Michael Kenny is to be its new Chief Executive.

Kenny, the former Chief Executive of the Sydney Turf Club, a position he held for ten years, has a strong background in venue and financial management, business analysis and strategic planning.

Explaining the appointment RAS President Glenn Dudley stated "Mr Kenny brings with him a wealth of knowledge and skill, and I'm very pleased to welcome him to the RAS."

Kenny said he is delighted to be joining the RAS, adding "I'm honoured to have been selected as the Chief Executive of such a prestigious organisation as the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW.

"The RAS has a proud history of supporting and promoting Australian agriculture and providing outstanding entertainment, education and customer service for millions of people at the iconic Sydney Royal Easter Show. The RAS is also known for its excellent event facilities and management services through the Sydney Showground operation which caters to some of the biggest events on the Australian business, social and sporting calendar.

"I am looking forward to working with the RAS Councillors and President Mr Glenn Dudley, to develop the future growth plans of the RAS. I am also looking forward to working with and learning from the great management team at the RAS and the wonderful staff and volunteers.

"I hope to meet many of the RAS supporters, sponsors and members over the coming weeks and months and look forward to a great Sydney Royal Easter Show."

Glenn Dudley concluded "Mr Kenny will take Sydney Showground forward as it continues to build on its reputation of hosting world class events, and also further strengthen Australia's oldest event tradition, the Sydney Royal Easter Show."
