Rainbow's End Death
A 21 year-old worker at Rainbow's End amusement park in South Auckland has died after becoming trapped in the park's Ferris wheel while conducting ride maintenance. Michael Stuart from Papakura died when he became trapped between a carriage on the Ferris wheel carriage and its frame.
The union representing workers at the park says it has a good safety record. Police and Department of Labour inspectors are investigating.
