AirActive opens provider portal in advance of Australian launch
In advance of the launch of the AirActive smartphone user app on in April next year, the new digital platform is now open for the providers of aquatic, fitness, recreation and sport services, classes, facilities and activities to become part of the initiative.
AirActive is creating a new space in the world of digital initiatives and sharing technology as it allows casual users to come to a facility or class with the provider maintain full pricing control of the visits.
There is no requirement for users to bulk buy or subscribe while discounting is not forced upon the providers.
Through its smartphone app, AirActive will make it easy for casual users to search, book and pay for activity as they go.
Crucially, and unlike fitness sharing and aggregating sites, facilities maintain control of their database.
Endorsed by Fitness Australia, AirActive is positioned as the sole digital platform that creates a win-win between the providers and the users.
The goal of AirActive is to deliver the following benefits to the providers:
• Get more people through the door
• Retain control of the customers and pricing
• Understand consumer behaviour
• Engage with active consumer of fitness industry series
AirActive founder Emmanuel Goutallier explains “today, 85% of the Australian active population does not have any provider membership. This is simply the largest pool of untapped revenue.
“With the fast growing millennials generation, consumers are looking for more flexibility and immediacy. AirActive enables just that. Research studies also have proven that payments occurring near the time of consumption increase attention to a product’s cost, boosting the likelihood of its consumption.”
For a business owner/manager’s perspective, AirActive delivers two additional key points of difference.
Firstly the purchase price for the product or service (that is determined by the provider) can be adjusted constantly depending on actual and forecast demand.
Secondly, the AirActive product has been developed with the intent of capturing and delivering back to the provider, a range of analytical data that will assist business owners in optimising their business.
The service works very simply for both the consumer and business owner. The business model is also very lean: AirActive collects money (a fixed booking fee) only when an activity is sold through the smartphone app - only when the provider makes money.
Fitness Australia recognises the uniqueness of the approach and the benefits for the entire industry with Strategic Projects and Partnerships Manager Andrew McCallum stating “AirActive can be a valuable avenue for providers to reach prospective clients.
“Fitness Australia wants more Australians engaged in fitness industry services and AirActive can be an important tool in achieving that objective, and does so while still allowing providers to retain control of pricing.
Goutallier adds “AirActive has not been developed to compete with the existing membership based structures, nor to replicate them.
“Instead AirActive has been positioned to co-exist within the membership platform and can be utilised as an avenue to bring in new prospective members and also to reactive lapsed members.”
Goutallier highlights that AirActive is relevant for fitness and health clubs and studios; aquatic, recreation and sport facilities; as well as climbing walls, indoor play centres, trampoline arenas and major venues.
In the coming weeks leading up to the launch of AirActive, the company looks forward to announcing a number of exciting partnerships encompassing technology, communications and apparel that have been specifically targeted to help spread the AirActive message to the consumer.
