Port Hedland Leisure marks three years of in-house facility management

Port Hedland Leisure marked three years of in-house management of the Town of Port Hedland’s aquatic, recreation and sport facilities, recording significant achievements and overcoming the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic to deliver excellence in health, fitness and recreation service to the local community.

Port Hedland Leisure is the Town managed brand responsible for Wanangkura Stadium, the Gratwick Aquatic and Fitness Centre, South Hedland Aquatic Centre and other physical and sporting ventures across Hedland.

Membership numbers have increased from 1,000 members in April 2019 to over 1,900 members in 2022; there have been over one million visits to leisure facilities since April 2019; over 5,000 fitness classes performed; more than 6,000 children and adults taught to swim; more than 35,000 creche visits; over 400,000 gym visits across Gratwick Gym and Wanangkura Stadium and over 450,000 visits to the South Hedland and Gratwick Aquatic Centres.
