Nine new programs launched at Wanangkura Stadium
The beginning of Term 2 will see the launch of nine new programs located on site at Port Hedland's multi-million dollar Wanangkura Stadium.
Available from Monday 6th May and running until early July, the Term 2 classes will cater to everyone from primary school students to seniors.
Wanangkura Stadium Centre Manager Melanie Starr said the exciting line up of new programs available in Term 2 included Beginner Yoga, morning and evening Ultimate Challenge group fitness training and low impact fitness for older adults.
Starr explained "it's great to be able to offer a wide range of programs which not only assist Port Hedland residents to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle but also give people the opportunity to participate in fun, social activities which contribute to a healthy work life balance
"We are also providing classes specific to those who are pregnant or new mums through our Mums n Bubs and Pre-Natal Conditioning course, which offers low impact exercises for the pregnant or post natal body, while our new Mini Movement classes assist babies and toddlers to develop coordination, social skills and spatial awareness in a fun environment."
Other classes on offer in Term 2 include Multi Sports, which gives primary school aged children the opportunity to explore nine different sports over nine weeks, and Junior Futsal, a form of indoor soccer for children aged five to 12 years.
Existing Gecko Kids Fitness classes aimed at Juniors (3-5 years), Youngsters (5-9 years) and Midsters (9-14 years), are also scheduled to return in Term 2.
Wanangkura Stadium is managed on behalf of the Town of Port Hedland by YMCA Perth.
