Polytan owner the Sport Group acquires Team Sports

The Sport Group, global owners of sport surface systems manufacturer Polytan, has announced the acquisition of Australian synthetic sport and recreational surface provider Team Sports.

This acquisition enhances the Sport Group’s position to be one of the fastest-growing global synthetic sports surface providers and follows the recent integration of Polytan with Melbourne-based Sports Technology International (STI) into the new Polytan STI entity.

The acquisition of Team Sports enhances the Sport Group’s position as one of the fastest-growing global synthetic sports surface providers and allows the combined business to focus on excellence in service as well as producing outstanding quality in synthetic sporting surfaces.

Explaining the acquisition, Sports Group Chief Executive Frank Dittrich states “with the acquisition of Team Sports, Sport Group strengthens its global leading position and supports its strong profitable growth.

“It also encourages the global rollout of the Polytan brand as a quality leader. I am delighted about this outstanding step forward for our customers and our own performance.”

Team Sports will continue to operate from its base in the the Sydney suburb of Seven Hills with Team Sports Chief Executive John Curtis, his management team, and staff remaining with the organisation.

Welcoming the acquisition, Curtis adds “we’re excited to be part of the Sport Group. This divestiture allows us to embrace new technologies, widen our product range, whilst still providing our clients with our outstanding customer service.”
