2023 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final sells out at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena
The Adelaide Thunderbirds and the NSW Swifts will play in front of a sold out crowd in Melbourne to night when they go head-to-head in the 2023 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final.
The 2023 premiers will be decided from 7AEST at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena, with over 9,900 tickets sold.
It marks the second year in a row for the Grand Final to sell out, following last year’s record breaking Grand Final in Perth.
Netball Australia Chief Executive, Kelly Ryan “we are thrilled to announce this year’s Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final is a sell out.
“This year’s finals crowds have been some of the biggest yet with record semi finals and preliminary final crowd attendance.
“We are incredibly excited to see this passion and pride continue through to the competition’s most anticipated match of the year.”
The most valuable player on court for the night be awarded with the Visit Victoria Player of the Match.
Visit Victoria acting Chief Executive, Kelly Dickson, added “we are proud of our partnership with Netball Australia and the Origin Australian Diamonds and we are delighted to be hosting the sold out 2023 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final in Melbourne.
“We look forward to welcoming fans from around the country to fill the stands of John Cain Arena this weekend.”
The Grand Final excitement will also go beyond the court on Saturday with a variety of entertainment and activities on offer, including the never-before-seen Clubhouse.
The Clubhouse is a dedicated fan zone free to Grand Final spectators as well as the general public and features live music, a half court for netball fun, Suncorp Super Netball player appearances, 360-degree photobooth, face-painting, food trucks, giveaways and more. It will be open from 4:00pm and located on Melbourne Park’s Grand Slam Oval.
The 2023 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final will be broadcast free and live on Kayo Freebies.
Hosting the Grand Final in Melbourne marks the second year that Netball Australia has sold the hosting rights for the event. As announced this week, in 2024, the Grand Final will be held in Adelaide.
