Outdoor hot pools reopened at Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre

The two outdoor artesian pools at the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre are once again in operation.

Reopened last week, the outdoor hot pools will now operate with up to 40 people swimming at any one time, with no bookings required.

Closed during the COVID-19 lockdown, management of the facility took the opportunity to retile the pools while they were not in use.

Prior to last week, only the indoor artesian pool in the Centre was open to 20 people at a time, with a booking system in place.

Entry to the outdoor pools is $8, with Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre (MAAC) members now able to opt back into their memberships.

People still have the option of booking a session in the wellness retreat at a cost of $10.

While walk-ins are welcome, MAAC Chief Executive, Emma Brazel encourages people to book online.

Brazel said locals were happy to see the reopening of the outdoor pools, with a number of people resuming their memberships already.

She told the Moree Champion “that's been well-received.

"Although we've still got limited hours to see how we go in the short term. We'll review that into the future."

MAAC’s gym remains open under strict COVID-19 guidelines, with people asked to bring their own towel and wipe down equipment before and after use.

Brazel added “we're working within the guidelines and doing the best we can”, stating that fitness classes will return in the near future.
