Outdoor gyms set for installation in suburban Brisbane

Brisbane City Council has this week agreed to install the city's first free outdoor gym at the Minnippi parklands in Tingalpa.

Construction of the $250,000 project is due to commence in early 2014 and be completed within two months.

The project, which will feature an array of shaded exercise equipment, along with a multi-use games court, is backed by Deputy Mayor Adrian Schrinner.

Councillor Schrinner told News Ltd "we are pleased to announce the construction of this city-first outdoor gym, which will help residents from Carindale, Tingalpa and surrounding suburbs to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle without the need for expensive gym memberships."
