Our top stories of 2014
In a remarkable year that saw the relaunch of this website, we have aimed to report on all aspects of the leisure industry in Australia and New Zealand while also featuring ever increasing coverage of the leisure industry across Asia.
At all times we set out to present credible, well-written and accessible content relevant to professionals in all sectors of the leisure industry (aquatics, attractions, entertainment, events, fitness, parks, recreation, sport, tourism and venues) and from which readers can learn and be informed so as to be equipped to perform their roles better.
At the same time, and without sensationalism, we also scrutinise the industry as not every venture, initiative, program or facility is a success and, as with all aspects of life, we learn from our mistakes.
Our top news has included the Hollywood glamour of Jane Fonda relauching Fitness First’s brand in Australia, the opening and performance of the Adelaide Oval, the performance of Australia's leading theme parks and through to simple warnings about swimmers peeing in the pool!
Sadly we have also had to report on the loss of leading industry figures and friends.
Taking a snapshot of this year through a handful of the over 2,000 news item published in Australasian Leisure Management we give you the following highlights and key stories of the year in leisure.
