Organisers advise of cancellation of all 2020 Fitness Show events
Reed Exhibitions have advised that "after closely monitoring the evolving situation” and following the directives from Federal and state governments, it has made the decision to stage no Fitness Show events during the remaining months of 2020.
Having first rescheduled The Fitness Show Sydney from its original dates earlier this month to run the ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour from 25th to 27th September, the announcement advises that this event will not now be held until 2021 - running from Friday 30th April to Sunday 2nd May 2021 next year.
In addition, The Fitness Show Melbourne, due to have been held on 24th and 25th October 2020 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, will now be staged at the same venue on 16th and 17th October 2021.
A statement from the global event organiser advises “we are in unprecedented times and are witnessing first-hand the challenging impact of COVID-19 on all industries, from both a professional and personal perspective.
“Initially, we were optimistic that both Fitness Shows would run later this year, and our principle focus was on ensuring that any new dates for the events were ideally positioned to support our community. However, following consultation with you, our customers and stakeholders, we have concluded that the best option is to refocus for the future with the Sydney and Melbourne editions of The Fitness Show.
“We appreciate that this is disappointing news, however, we have made this decision with everyone’s health and safety as our number one priority. We can now look ahead to the 2021 editions of The Fitness Show with more certainty.
“We will continue to do our utmost to help all our customers, partners and attendees to prepare for the 2021 events. While we are disappointed that we are unable to meet face-to-face in 2020, we remain committed to keeping Australia’s vibrant fitness community connected over the coming months.”
Reed Exhibitions today announced that its rescheduled FIBO event in Germany will be a trade-only event running from 1st to 3rd October.
