NZF Futsal Roadshow reaches Auckland with a feast of Futsal fun

New Zealand Football (NZF) and Auckland Football Federation are hosting host free Futsal activities for the estimated 10,000 people attending the Auckland EID Day on Friday 9th August at ASB Show Grounds and also during the weekend at the Futsal Roadshow at Trusts Stadium, Waitakere.

Fresh from their Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Futsal Invitational success the Futsal Whites will be at the Roadshow and the Eid Festival showing off their skills and coaching kids with some fun Futsal activities. A special court will be set up at the Festival so that anyone can have a go at the game and discover how much fun Futsal can be.

Auckland Eid Day is a family based event celebrating the major 'Eid' (Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting) holidays observed by Muslims worldwide. The Festival offers a wide variety of games, stalls, displays and stage shows.

Those attending the Festival will also have the rare opportunity to see the Futsal Whites face up against the Northern Region based U-17 All Whites on the Friday evening.

The Futsal Roadshow continues over the weekend at The Trusts Stadium, Waitakere. In a series of events to engage Futsals' integration into Clubs, there will be a free Introduction to Futsal Course and a Senior Club Futsal Tournament on the Sunday, with the winning team getting the opportunity to take on the Futsal Whites.

With the Club and College Futsal Season starting this spring, NZF say that "the events (are) a great time to discover more about Futsal, one of the fastest growing forms of the game in New Zealand.

"Futsal offers the opportunity for players to kick it all year round', with an organised season at the conclusion of the winter football season."

Auckland Football Federation is launching the South Auckland Futsal League, to be held on Wednesday evenings at Wesley College Recreational Centre from 22nd August.
