Northern Beaches Council opens applications for sports grants

Sydney’s Northern Beaches Council has released the 2022 Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Grants – offering between $10,000 and $50,000 for improvements to sports and recreation facilities across the area.

Eligible, incorporated, not-for-profit organisations can apply for a grant to build new or upgrade existing infrastructure on a Council-owned or managed facility.

Projects must do one or more of these:

  • increase opportunities for participation in sport, recreation, and active play

  • improve the viability of sport and recreation groups

  • develop safe, accessible, and family-friendly facilities.

Mayor Michael Regan encouraged sporting organisations to apply before the closing date on 11th September.

“Grants are a great opportunity to get those small to medium-sized improvements for your club or sporting facility.

“For example, the grants last year are being used to install solar panels on Manly Croquet Club building, renew lighting at Belrose Tennis Club and the Manly Warringah Kayak Club put $10,000 towards an upgrade of the female amenities at Berry Reserve.”

More information, FAQs, and the application form can be found online.
