North Queensland Stadium contract to mark first installation of Camatic’s new Axiom seat

Melbourne-based seating supplier Camatic has revealed that the under construction North Queensland Stadium will mark the first installation of its newest stadium seat, the Axiom.

Joining its suite of unique seating products, Camatic sees that the Axiom will “set the standard for stadium seating for years to come.”

Set for completion in early 2020, the $250 million regional stadium will include state-of-the-art corporate facilities, permanent stands, permanent concessions and modern amenities.

The venue is expected to provide a significant economic boost to Townsville with a group of local business leaders collaborating to develop a range of pre and post-game activities for NRL fans to enjoy once the new venue opens.

Camatic also provided over 80,000 seats for the refurbishment of the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur in advance of Malaysia’s hosting of the Asian Games last year.

The first part of the transformation of Malaysia’s Bukit Jalil National Sports Complex, into one of Asia’s top sporting venues, KL Sports City, began in the summer of 2017. The project included the installation of more than 85,000 of Camatic’s ALPHA and QUANTUM seats, with a randomised colour scheme of greys and yellows.

Populous and MRCB (Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd) worked together as architect and contractor respectively on a shared vision for the redevelopment of the Bukit Jalil Stadium and wider KL Sports City.

The venue scooped the Stadium of the Year Award at the recently concluded World Stadium Congress in Amsterdam.
