New Year’s Eve celebrations tailored for communities across Northern Territory

New Year’s Eve events across the Northern Territory are being thoughtfully tailored to meet the individual needs of each community, and to highlight their unique cultures and celebrate their members.

Planning is underway for a series of free New Year’s Eve events to be held simultaneously in Darwin, Maningrida, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs to celebrate the beginning of the New Year.

Wadeye and Maningrida are set to dance the night away with live entertainment, kids’ activities and delicious food for community members.

Katherine locals will enjoy live entertainment including a band, soloist and a DJ, an interactive photo booth, food vendors and a children’s area including a disco dance zone, face painting and other fun children activities.

Tennant Creek is set to get wet with a family friendly pool-themed party with children’s water activities, a live DJ, face painting, circus activities and plenty of food options with an outdoor movie to complete the evening.

Alice Springs is coming together for a fun, family friendly street-party featuring a live band, a DJ, children’s entertainment, lawn games, food trucks and a local craft pop-up market.

Territorians will also be able to celebrate together across the regions thanks to a livestream which will connect regional events and the Darwin Waterfront’s New Year’s Eve celebration and fireworks display.
