New Splash Zone transforms Gladstone Aquatic Centre

Splash Zone, an interactive toddlers pool and splash pad/ water spray ground has opened at the Gladstone Aquatic Centre.

The new $2.5 million attraction features water jets, cannons, sprays and bubblers and a toddler's pool with the attraction's towering centrepiece the Big Tipper Bucket a six-metre high structure that fill with 500 litres of water in nine seconds, before dumping the bucket-load on eager children below.

Introducing the new attraction, Gladstone Regional Council Mayor Gail Sellers said the opening of Splash Zone has transformed the Gladstone Aquatic Centre into a state-of-the-art-facility unlike any other in regional Queensland.

Mayor Sellers explained "the bucket ... features a couple of fun slides which, along with other fun features including water jets and cannons, all sorts of sprays and bubblers, and a toddlers' pool, will keep the kids entertained."
