New Spa for Gold Coast Retreat
A new luxury spa has opened at the Gold Coast Ruffles Lodge retreat.
The $650,000 development further enhances the lodgeâs reputation as an idyllic escape from the stresses of modern life, capturing the natural ambience of its pristine Mount Tamborine environment to soothe the mind, body and soul. It offers massages, facials, body treatments such as the Bath Soak Ritual and the Organic Honey and Cocoa Body Wrap, pedicures, manicures, infrared sauna, steam room and more.
Open to day visitors and in-house guests, the 3,370 metre2 Ruffles Spa features three individualised treatment rooms including a double room with outdoor courtyard for couples and a luxurious stone bath.
Sydney-based architects Allen Jack + Cottier, who also created Australia's Golden Door Health Retreat in the Hunter Valley, NSW, were responsible for the spa design. There was also input from consultants Kirrien Withers.
Ruffles Manager William Ewens said the lodge had created a first class destination spa experience with a focus on nature, explaining "we consider the spa experience to be a journey and while everyone's journey is different, there is a common starting place. At Ruffles Spa, the foot bath infusion ceremony stands as our initial rejuvenating rite.
"Pure white grapefruit, West Indian lime rind, rose geranium flower and French lavender work magic, soaking away initial tension and stress. From there, the journey varies, according to a guestâs needs and the analysis of our experienced Spa Director."
Set on 50 acres of parkland, Ruffles Lodge offers a wet edge pool, putting green, poolside gazebo, lounge area and restaurant which sources the best and freshest produce for its menus.
Located on a ridge at Willow Vale, the Ruffles Lodge is around an hour's drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast Airports.
