New Ride for Melbourne Luna Park's Summer of Fun
Melbourne's Luna park is to launch a new thrill ride for the 2010/11 summer seaon.
Manufactured by Italian amusement industry enthusiasts the Zamperla family, the new ride, The Coney Island Top Drop, has been modelled on the popular attraction which the Zamperlas created for the famous Coney Island Luna Park in New York. The Coney Island Top Drop will stand almost 15 metres high and will draw brave visitors high up into the sky, and suspend them there until it finally sends them on a terrifying plunge.
The park is also set to launch the new Rock 'n' Tug family ride which simulates the rocking, dipping and twirling fun of a tug boat.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy a grand new addition to the landscape of the Park with a large-scale artwork installation by local artist Pamela Irving.
Open every day of the summer holidays from 18th December, families are encouraged to get in early to be among the first to experience The Coney Island Top Drop as well as Luna Park's 16 other regular rides and attractions.
