New African experience comes to Werribee Open Range Zoo
Werribee Open Range Zoo’s lawns will come to life this February and March with the Village Market offering an African experience in the heart of Victoria
Stalls, performances, food, drink and craft activities will infuse each Sunday with all the colours and flavours of Africa in this brand new experience.
Join South Sudanese Yirol dancers as they perform in traditional costumes, then dance to the beat of African drums in the summer sun. Enjoy the rich smells and flavours of an Ethiopian coffee ceremony and taste specialty Sudanese tea.
Tantalising African-inspired snacks will be available to enjoy while watching animals emerge from stone through traditional carving.
And, of course, no Village Market would be complete without an array of gorgeous items to purchase. Peruse wares including stunning beaded sandals, hanging planters and African fabric tops and skirts.
There will also be hair braiding, banana leaf weaving and traditional games.
