NBL announces social media influencers as Finals Ambassadors

Following a record-breaking season for fan engagement, the NBL has announced its 'Finals Ambassadors' - a group of social media influencers set to amplify the excitement, connect with new audiences, and showcase basketball’s impact beyond the court.

NBL teams  - the Illawarra Hawks, Melbourne United, Perth Wildcats, and South East Melbourne Phoenix are all vying for the championship.

NBL Executive General Manager, Marketing, Ben Jenkins noted "the NBL Finals are the most exciting part of the season, set against the backdrop of another record-breaking campaign for the League, with more fan engagement than ever before. Basketball is firmly woven into Australian culture, and this year’s Finals ambassadors reflect the diversity and energy of the game.

“ Whether through humour, style, or sporting excellence, each ambassador shares a passion for the NBL and connects with fans in their own unique way. Together, they highlight how basketball unites communities, shapes pop culture, and inspires us all to Dream Big. We’re thrilled to have them on board to fuel the energy and passion of the NBL Finals and engage with a new audience of fans.”

Meet the NBL Finals Ambassadors:

Daniel Gorringe – Social Media Personality (Melbourne)
The former AFL player and Big Brother personality has an accumulative following of over 10 million and is known more so for his gift for sports, comedy and culture commentary. Gorringe trailblazes in sports media, hosting and producing his #1 podcast, Dan Does Footy.

Harley Reid – West Coast Eagles star (Perth)
A household name in sports, on and off the field, Harley Reid is an AFL player for the West Coast Eagles. Selected as the number one pick in the 2023 AFL Draft, Reid’s online following and social media presence has grown tremendously after a sensational rookie season. Reid quickly made an impact for the Eagles, earning a Rising Star nomination and being compared to football legends such as Dustin Martin and Chris Judd.

Jacquie Alexander – Social Media Lifestyle Personality (Perth)
Alexander is a leading Australian fashion and beauty creator, as well as the owner of All on Seven & Daily Iced. With over 800,000 followers, Alexander has established herself as a prominent figure in the Australian fashion scene, with a loyal following who turn to her for fashion inspiration and beauty advice.   

Jadé Brycki – Social Media Beauty/Fashion Personality (Sydney)
Brycki is a fashion and lifestyle creator known for mixing high-end and high street styles, creating aspirational yet relatable content for her growing audience. She shares travel photography, fitness inspiration, and real-life style advice, while also offering a glimpse into her journey through motherhood as a new mum.

Georgie Hansen – Social Media Beauty/Fashion Personality (Wollongong)
Georgie Hansen is the fastest growing female creator known for her relatable content that resonates with the younger generation. With 700,000 followers and growing, Hansen’s down-to-earth personality and genuine connection with her audience are quickly making her a standout in the digital space.

Kevin Achampong – Social Media Personality (Wollongong)
Achampong has made a name for himself on TikTok, where his comedic style has captivated a wide audience. Achampong also has imressive basketball skills, playing for the Sutherland Sharks in NBL1. 

With the NBL25 Finals set to deliver edge-of-your-seat action, the Finals Ambassadors will bring fresh energy to the game, engaging fans both inside and outside the arena. As the battle for the championship heats up, their voices will amplify the excitement, proving that basketball’s influence extends far beyond the court.
