Mount Isa’s Splashez Aquatic Centre popular since reopening
Mount Isa City Council has advised that its Splashez Aquatic Centre has attracted “bumper crowds” since it reopened in October.
The Council said more than 31,400 people have visited Splashez Aquatic Centre since the facility was reopened following extensive renovation work.
A statement from the Council reported by the North West Star advised “summer may now be over and the warm-weather months are winding down, but it proved to be a very busy period for Splashez - more than half of the admissions were for adults, with children making up the remainder.”
The Splashez cafe is also now fully operational, with the recent installation of an exhaust fan, and now sells hot chips, toasted sandwiches, hot dogs, pies, muffins and sausage rolls, as well as soft drinks, chips and ice creams.
