More than 2,500 professionals attend Australasia's premier fitness industry convention

The Australian fitness industry converged on Darling Harbour in Sydney for the recent FILEX 2012 Fitness Industry Convention.

Held over four days from at the end of April 2012 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event started with a Thursday 26th April with four pre-convention workshops across Sydney. From ViPR Playground workshop to the rip:60 Certification, a wealth of knowledge was shared from industry experts including Chuck Wolf, Michol Dalcourt and Jeremy Strom.

In addition to these events, the annual FILEX Business Summit was held at Doltone House - Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont and hosted 260 delegates from all areas of fitness business. Renowned speaker, Rowdy McLean, fitness business expert, Thomas Plummer and Australian Fitness Network's

Nigel Champion (pictured) delivered a series of insightful and thought-provoking presentations that will challenge the status quo in many fitness businesses around the country in the coming months.

Sponsored by the Australian Institute of Fitness, the PT Business Summit delivered a solid educational program from Darren Hill, Casey Conrad and Fiona Cosgrove proved to be the reason a record number of almost 100 motivated personal trainers left with renewed vigour for the business of fitness.

The main event kicked off on 27th April with a lighting and dance experience like no other, coordinated by Nathan Short, followed up by a comical and thought-provoking keynote address by Dan Gregory.

After the exodus from the main auditorium, 2,500 delegates embarked on the 3-day convention program. With the choice of close to 250 sessions over the event, the delegates left with heads full of new ideas, strategies and training tools, as well as collective
praise for the event.

On the Saturday morning, two insightful panels took place at Dockside Function Centre and The Star Room. Over 230 delegates descended on Dockside Function Centre for the Business Breakfast, sponsored by CustomerCall, and joined Emmett Williams for a lively panel discussion.

Later, over 100 personal trainer delegates were treated to The Great Debate - Isolation Vs. Integration at the Star Room, chaired by Mark Davis.

On the Sunday, delegates at the Keynote Address were taken on a journey from the emotional acceptance speech from this year's Presenter of the Year, Jay Blahnik to the engaging presentation from the facilitator of joy herself, Amanda Gore.

Finally, the last two session timeslots provided more than enough information, education and inspiration to ensure everyone left the event ready to make the next 12 months their best yet.

FILEX 2013 will be held from 19th to 21st April 2013 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
