More new netball courts opened on the Sunshine Coast

Junior netballers on the Sunshine Coast have another two high quality, resurfaced courts on which they can develop their skills following upgrades at Victory Park in Woombye.

This project for the Nambour and Districts Netball Association was jointly funded by the Sunshine Coast Council and the Queensland Government.

This upgrade follows the recent resurfacing of 10 netball courts at Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex and two new courts at Maroochydore Basketball Stadium.

Sunshine Coast Councillor Jenny McKay was happy to see the refurbished Woombye courts opened in front of a very appreciative crowd of young netballers and their family and friends on Saturday 22nd April.

Councillor Jenny McKay stated “the teams are back in action enjoying these upgraded courts and the overall improvements to the club grounds.

“It’s great to be able to provide quality netball courts for our community, particularly given the increased local interest in the game that the Sunshine Coast’s first national sporting team, the Lightning, has already sparked.”

Drainage at the facility has also been upgraded to help ensure the courts retain a high quality surface following rain.
