Mona Foma announces 2021 dates in Launceston and Hobart

Mona’s Festival of Music and Art, Mona Foma, will have events in Launceston and Hobart in January next year.

Advising that the organisers felt they were “compelled” to reinvent the Festival,

Mona Foma Curator, Brian Ritchie told The Mercury “(we’ll see) one weekend in Launceston, and one weekend in Hobart, to spread the love (with) great Tasmanian artists, unusual venues, and an irrepressible creativity.”

Visit Northern Tasmania Chief Executive, Chris Griffin welcomed the announcement, commenting “we are confident that the dual programs they’ll run between Launceston and Hobart will have Tasmanians enthusiastically travelling back and forth between our two great cities.”

Destination Southern Tasmania Chief Executive, Alex Heroys said sharing the festival across two cities would boost the economies of both, adding “I predict that Tasmanians will flood north and south on both weekends to take advantage of the acts on show.”

Mona Foma will be held in Launceston from 15th to 17th January and Hobart from 22nd to 24th January.
