Mohren Joins AEG Ogden
AEG Ogden has announced that convention and exhibition industry veteran Frank Mohren will be joining the group in a venue development role.
Mohren recently left the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) after 15 years. In his final role, Frank was MCECâs Director of Operations overseeing the development of the $350 million convention centre expansion which opened in July 2009.
In announcing Mohrenâs appointment AEG Ogden Chief Executive Harvey Lister said that he will be involved primarily in assisting with the establishment and start up of the groupâs new convention centre projects.
âWe are currently expanding the number of facilities we have under management across the Asia Pacific region so Frankâs extensive experience in opening and operating major venues and hotels, both in Australia and internationally, makes him a very welcome addition to our specialist management team? Lister explained.
Mohrenâs initial assignment will be with the AEG Ogden managed Qatar National Convention Centre currently under construction in Doha and due for completion in the second half of 2011.
AEG Ogden manages venues throughout the Asia Pacific region, including Sydneyâs Acer Arena, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and the Newcastle Entertainment Centre, and the Perth Arena (currently under construction); the Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centres, the Qatar National Convention Centre (currently under construction), Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane and live theatres including Perthâs His Majestyâs Theatre and the Perth Concert Hall.
US-based AEG Facilities is the leading entertainment, sports and venue operator in the world, which owns, operates or consults with more than 100 of the industryâs pre-eminent venues worldwide.
