Australia's first integrated pickleball bar and entertainment venue set to open in Melbourne

Royal Pickle Club, Australia’s first integrated pickleball bar, dining and entertainment venue is counting down to opening its doors on 6th September.

Located in Carrum Downs, the Royal Pickle Club combines the fast-growing sport of pickleball with a full-service bar and dining experience. Guests can reserve courts, participate in leagues and join as members while enjoying food and drinks in a vibrant, social setting.

Introducing the venue, Jess Woodcock, Venue Manager of Royal Pickle Club, advised “with pickleball's rising popularity among groups throughout Australia, we are eager to bring our first entertainment venue concept to the pickleball community.

Royal Pickle Club is more than just a pickleball venue. We are creating a destination where the excitement of sport meets the comfort of a great meal and a fun social environment.”

The new venue will feature:

  • Pickleball Courts: Reserve a court for some friendly competition or intense matches.

  • Eat & Drink: Enjoy a range of gourmet dishes, snacks and beverages crafted to satisfy every palate.

  • Events & Functions: From corporate events and team-building activities to birthday parties and social gatherings, Royal Pickle Club provides a unique venue for any occasion.

  • Memberships & Leagues: Become a member or join a league to stay active and engaged with the vibrant pickleball community.

According to the USA-based Sports & Fitness Industry Association's Topline Participation Report, pickleball has been the fastest-growing sport in America for the third consecutive year.

This growth trend has been mirrored in Australia, where membership in the Pickleball Australia Association has surged from 7,500 in January 2024 to 12,648 by June 2024.

Pickleball is an easy-to-learn, fast-paced game that’s perfect for all ages and skill levels. It’s played on a court similar in size to a badminton court with a net slightly lower than a tennis net. The game is typically played in doubles, but singles play is also popular.

The rules are simple: serve underhand, let the ball bounce once on each side before volleying, stay out of the 'kitchen' unless you let the ball bounce, and aim to reach 11 points with a two-point lead to win.

The game is accessible for all ages and skill levels making it the perfect activity for friends, families and workmates.
