Mitchell Shire Leisure Services launches personalised fitness innovations

Mitchell Shire Leisure Services has revealed details of recently completed gym upgrades at its Kilmore Leisure Centre and Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre.

The Health and Fitness Centre refurbishments at both facilities included renovations to the buildings and the installation of all new Precor Experience Series Cardio, Discovery Series Strength and Australian Barbell Company award winning gym equipment.

Advising that the upgrades have been extremely well received by the centre members and the wider community, Billie Asprey, Team Leader - Health and Wellness at the Mitchell Leisure Services, explained “the vast majority of the equipment installed replaced older models of the same item.

“However, the newly released Precor equipment with the latest in state of the art Preva Networked Fitness touch screens along with cardio machines that we have not offered at our centres before have been the biggest hit with both our members and staff.

“The Adaptive Motion Trainers with Open Stride has provided an excellent alternative for low impact cardio training and our members are loving the variety from the regular elliptical machine.

“The Assault AirBike has really upped the intensity of our private and small group personal training sessions and our members are really rising to the challenge. The P82 touch screen consoles on the Experience Series cardio equipment featuring Netflix, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Bluetooth connectivity and Video on Demand coupled with numerous other entertainment features have made longer duration cardio sessions much more enjoyable for our members and we are seeing much greater usage of these pieces as a result.

“The introduction of the Discovery Benches and Racks and bumper plates to our two facilities has drastically increased the accessibility of free weight training for our members that are relatively new to weight training, while increasing the safety of weight training for the more advanced exercisers.

“The Preva Networked Fitness has also been a hugely positive component of the Precor installation. Being able to track and save workouts has provided and yet another incentive for our members to exercise. For us, it provides valuable data on equipment usage and workout patterns and console personalisation provides yet another mode for us to communicate with our members.”
