Melbourne City FC men’s and women’s players to benefit from eo sport technology
Australian sports technology company eo, has partnered with Melbourne City FC for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 A-Leagues season, a partnership which will see Melbourne City FC use some of eo’s wearable device technology to help monitor their men’s and women’s players’ health, recovery, and performance.
Embarking on a ‘bi-lateral Innovation Development Partnership’ with eo sets Melbourne City FC apart from other A-Leagues clubs by showing they are going above and beyond to adopt early technologies to assist their players’ performance, recovery, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
eo commits to only partnering with one club per competition, and only brings in development partners from other non-competing sports who will add value to all partners.
eo was co-founded by former SKINS and adidas executives, Jaimie Fuller and Dean Hawkins, along with leading international sports scientist Dr Kenneth Graham.
Chairman Jaimie Fuller says the company is committed to partnering with the best in Australian Sport and can’t wait to embark on this new relationship with Melbourne City FC.
Fuller enthused “I’m extremely excited about this partnership as we share the same ambition to develop the way we support elite athletes in competition, training and recovery,” says Fuller.
“At eo, our goal is to build a team of partners who are all at the top of their respective sports and work together to change the landscape in Australian sport. As new technology emerges, the team at eo vow to be at the forefront of innovation and continue to push teams to join the charge in defying limits and creating better athletes of the future.”
Andrew McKenzie, Head of Human Performance at Melbourne City FC adds “the partnership between Melbourne City FC and eo cements yet another step forward for our organisation in sports technology.
“I am proud to be a part of a club that puts their athletes first in monitoring health, recovery management and performance development, and gives them every opportunity to better themselves and improve on their athletic potential and sporting ability through world-class and ground-breaking technology. We believe in our players, and we are proving that in this partnership.”
eo is working with clubs and organisations across a range of sports including rugby league, rugby union, AFL, netball, swimming and triathlon.
