Medibank offers discounts for golf and fitness club members
Health insurer Medibank is expanding its promotion of active lifestyles while enhancing member benefits with discounted memberships at Goodlife Health Clubs and its GolfLife program.
Having a longstanding link with Goodlife Health Clubs through its GymBetter program, Medibank are offering a 15% discounts to its members on Goodlife Health Clubs’ Active Plus membership.
The deal, which gives access to all 75 Goodlife clubs nationally, also offers complimentary quarterly coaching sessions with a Goodlife fitness professional, a free five day trial prior to membership, free weekend guest membership during staffed hours and a 20% discount on participation in the Goodlife 12 Week Challenge.
The GolfLife initiative is a membership-based program providing savings of up to 50% at over 200 courses throughout Australia.
Medibank members can chose from three different tiers to choose from, catering from the beginner right through to seasoned professionals.
The partnerships are part of a growing trend among health insurers to promote active lifestyles among members, with each business maximising the leverage value of their database.
While Medibank’s GymBetter initiative has not expanded since Fitness First Australia left the program in the middle of 2016, its app and program links with three major gym chains, Anytime Fitness, Fitness First and Goodlife Health Clubs – offering 500 locations that Medibank members can use without having to join.
GymBetter memberships see participants pay a discount rate for each visit, $8.50 a gym visit for members or $11.95 for non-members, while delivering extra benefits if eight passes are purchased in a calendar month.
