MCI's event roadshow to address challenges for Australian associations

MCI's Asia Pacific President and Association Division Chief Executive Robin Lokerman, is making a dedicated visit to Australia to share insights with association leaders and the Australian events industry from his highly successful and expansive career.

Explaining the significance of his trip, Lokerman stated "there are some key challenges that keep practitioners, professors and association executives awake at night when they think of their association's activities.

"Their burning questions include: How do I attract 20% of my audience from Asia? How can I create more revenue streams? What are other successful associations doing around the world to stay relevant? I am looking forward to answering these and more."

Lokerman and other MCI association experts will host more than 200 of Australia's most influential associations throughout the roadshow, which takes them to Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne between 25th and 29th June.

As a past recipient of AIME's International Meetings Industry Person of the Year award, Lokerman will be sharing innovative strategies for maximising revenue potential and increasing the brand value of associations and their events.

MCI Regional Director for Associations in Asia Pacific, Stephan Wurzinger, expressed excitement about the upcoming opportunities to share knowledge with MCI's clients and the industry, stating "Robin will be providing some unique insights into the latest market trends with his wealth of 30 years' experience in this industry.

"For example, the hottest conversation these days is not about how many 'attendees' will come to your event, but how many 'participants' will benefit from your event.

"This can mean the difference between 1,500 'delegates' or 3,000 overall 'participants'that's an exciting discussion to have."

While Lokerman is in town, MCI Australia will also be launching its specialist Meetings & Events Division in Sydney on Tuesday 26th June at an exclusive function at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The theme of the night will be 'Building Community & Sustainability', in line with MCI's position as the events industry's thought-leader in sustainable meetings.
