Octopus Purchase to Benefit Enta Australasia
Investment company Octopus Investments has purchased the operations of London-based ticketing system Enta UK.
The purchase has positive outcomes for the Australian Enta business known as Enta Australasia Pty Ltd as the investment allows for additional capital to be invested into the Enta business for the creation of a separate and focussed Enta development team.
This team is being created to focus on the future development of Enta and will form a new business called Global Ticketing Solutions LLC.
Global Ticketing Solutions will comprise of two teams of developers â a web solutions cluster who will focus on writing Enta into the latest .net technologies and a back end development cluster who will lead the continued development of the Enta product.
The Global Ticketing Solutions team will be led by current Head of Development Neil Martin under the direction of an international development board, the board including one representative from each of Entaâs territories - Australia, the UK and USA.
George Newton, Chair and majority shareholder of Enta Ltd and Global Ticketing Solutions, explained "the separation of the development business will enable greater focus for the continued development of the leading ticketing technology."
The organisational structure of Enta Australasia has not changed. Enta Australasia is still owned by Enta Ltd and led by John Godwin in conjunction with John Nunn, Martin Tam, Andrew Steel and a recently appointed UK based trainer - Catherine Flanagan who joins the team on the 5th July.
Enta system and support services will be unaffected by this transfer and Enta staff contact details remain unchanged. Enta maintenance and upgrades will continue to be delivered by the
UK business under the leadership of Andrew Sharp, the current Managing Director of Ticketing Technologies. Sharp and his team will continue to work with the Australian team.
The regular upgrades in the software will continue in parallel with future development initiatives using the same source code until customers have migrated to the future planned Enta product. The recent release of the PCI compliant version 4.10.14 which also includes increased web sales functionality is a testament to Entaâs commitment to provide a leading ticketing solution.
As of 2018, the Enta Australasia brand is part of Vivaticket.
