MCG Chooses Ticketek

The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has announced that Ticketek Pty Ltd has been awarded the ticketing and access control services contract at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Effective for five years from 1st March 2009, the new partnership will provide patrons quick and easy access to secure tickets to events at the MCG via a number of channels. These include Ticketek.com, the Ticketek call centre, one of many Ticketek retail agency outlets across Australia or at the venue box office.

MCC Chief Executive Stephen Gough said the benefits that Ticketek will bring to the MCG include improved IT functionality, enhanced marketing opportunities, more user-friendly ticket selling and access control systems and increased flexibility of ticket formats which will benefit patrons and venue hirers, stating "the MCG is a world-class stadium and we continue to look at ways of improving service to our patrons and enhancing their venue experience. We are excited about our new relationship with Ticketek, which will see a fresh approach to ticketing."

Ticketek Chief Executive Geoff Jones said he was delighted his company was involved with the ticketing operations at the MCG, adding "the MCG is an iconic venue and we are thrilled with the new partnership which will see Ticketek provide its world-class ticketing services and innovative marketing solutions."
