MCEC posts best ever year
The Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC) recorded its most successful year in 2013/14 with a record-breaking revenue of $69.9 million.
During the year MCEC delivered 1,030 events for 680,955 attendees, which included 78 national and international conferences and exhibitions, 48 food and wine events and 45 concerts.
Business generated by events held at MCEC was worth $274,094,794 to the Victorian economy, some 22.8% of the total contribution of Victorian business events.
MCEC Chief Executive Peter King said that the achievement would not have been possible without its customers, partners, Club Melbourne Ambassadors, suppliers, the Victorian Government and the Melbourne community.
King explained “we thank you for helping us make history.
“MCEC is a valuable community asset for Melbourne and we’re proud to share our achievements with you.”
