Matchpoint and SCG Trust extend corporate hospitality agreement

Leading corporate hospitality specialist MatchPoint have expanded their role as the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust’s exclusive partner for private suite and box sales, continuing a 15-year relationship with the SCG and Allianz Stadium.

The new agreement, which will run until 2024, will see MatchPoint operate under the name ‘SCG Hospitality’ and cover event day sales for annual, casual and seasonal clients at both venues.

MatchPoint have entertained corporate clients at some of the world’s biggest events and venues, placing Allianz Stadium and the SCG alongside the Rugby World Cup at Twickenham, the Australian Open Tennis at Melbourne Park and the NFL at Wembley Stadium.

With offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Edinburgh, London and Hong Kong, MatchPoint have a global perspective on what the benchmark is for hospitality at major sports and entertainment venues.

Jason Hill, General Manager of Commercial for the Trust, believes the new agreement with MatchPoint reaffirms Moore Park as one of Australia’s leading destinations for business and sport.

Hill explained “the SCG and Allianz Stadium host more than 80 sporting and entertainment events every year and MatchPoint play a pivotal role in making sure that the corporate offering we provide is world class.

“Events like the Ashes series, the HSBC Sydney Sevens, the NRL Finals Series and the Wallabies' June Test have an international appeal. The opportunity for fans to enjoy the spectacle from one of our corporate suites has been a huge part of their success to date.

“Our sports partners bring more than 1.7 million people through the gates every year and it’s important that our highest paying ticketholders and clients enjoy an unforgettable game day experience.”

MatchPoint founder and Group Managing Director, Neil Cunningham is pleased to continue a longstanding partnership with two of the country’s leading sports venues and believes this is a unique opportunity for corporate Sydney.

Cunningham added “importantly, the Trust has secured a number of new events adding to the existing range for major fixtures and concerts in the calendar.

"T20s are joining the traditional Ashes Test and ODIs along with increasing Big Bash fixtures, the Swans, the Waratahs, the Roosters and Sydney FC home games, including the now iconic derby against the Wanderers, as well as major artists like Ed Sheeran and Coldplay being hosted each year.

“We are investing in the hospitality and corporate experience by developing new and refurbished suites and boxes, and new hospitality products and options.

“All of this, and the convenient location of the SCG and Allianz Stadium for entertaining, makes this a very exciting project and we are very proud to be working with the Trust to keep Moore Park as the leading destination for business and sport.

“SCG Hospitality is offering the widest range of events and facilities, right on Sydney's doorstep, enriching the existing family of major Australian events including the Rugby League World Cup and the Socceroos' journey to the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

“We are very confident that corporate Sydney, corporate Australia, and international companies will embrace what’s on offer and enjoy these events and the hospitality experience.”
