Glen Eira Leisure's online fitness hub gets international recognition

With its facilities locked down as a result of Coronavirus restrictions, Glen Eira Leisure’s creation of an online fitness hub of workouts featuring staff at their Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre, Caulfield Recreation Centre and Carnegie Swim Centre has not only been welcomed by members and users, but has also been recognised internationally.

With much of the fitness industry moving online to stay connected with members, Glen Eira Leisure has worked with its own instructors to create an online hub of workouts, offering a range of sessions from HIIT workouts to yoga and meditation.

With the workouts being free and streamed live, international interest in the programs has seen trainers Rachel Engelhardt and Chris Spink, interviewed on Indian television, giving tips on how to train with no equipment in isolation.

Welcoming the recognition, Paige Buse, Manager at Glen Eira Leisure, stated “people are loving seeing their regular instructors go live and be able to send them messages and get a reply while they teach.”

Glen Eira Mayor Margaret Esakoff said staying active is good for physical, emotional and mental health, commenting “the workouts have been designed to cater for all-abilities and fitness levels.

“You can stay connected to the Glen Eira Leisure team members and still enjoy their enthusiasm and encouragement to keep you active.”
