GESAC acknowledged as Fitness Australia’s First Quality Accredited Business
Fitness Australia has today announced that the Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) in Victoria has become the first business to complete the Fitness Australia Quality Accreditation Program.
Advising of the achievement, Fitness Australia Chief Executive Bill Moore stated “Fitness Australia Quality Accreditation is a quality improvement program designed for fitness businesses in Australia to continuously build on the quality of their business, with customer care and value being the ultimate goals.
“Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre’s commitment to being a high quality facility will be of great benefit to their community.
“Becoming the first fitness business nationally to achieve accreditation is an outstanding accomplishment, and marks a major milestone for the fitness industry.”
GESAC Manager Paige Buse led the leading sports and aquatic centre through the accreditation process, commenting “we wanted to demonstrate to our community that we are committed to the highest standards, and more importantly, committed to continuous improvement.
“I think for our community there will be the peace of mind that they are in safe hands when attending GESAC.
“I am hopeful that this accreditation will help encourage medical professionals to support patients in their rehabilitation utilising fitness facilities such as GESAC providing a cohesive support network for clients.”
Fitness Australia Quality Accreditation Program participants are required to undertake a rigorous four part process and provide evidence of compliance relating to areas such as professionalism, safety, customer care, information and knowledge, people and leadership, with the opportunity to: improve the effectiveness of their business; provide greater value to their customers; and raise community expectations of customer care and service.
Glen Eira Mayor Tony Athanasopolous said he's extremely proud of this achievement, adding “it's fantastic to see GESAC and Fitness Australia working together to inspire members of the Glen Eira community."
