Mapei continues partnership with Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race
Sports facilities product specialist Mapei, has announced its ongoing sponsorship of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.
In just its third year, the Race has recently been successful in securing a place on the coveted Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) WorldTour racing calendar from 2017 to 2019.
The award of the three-year licence by world cycling’s governing body means the 174 kilometre men’s one-day classic has reached the pinnacle of road cycling, sitting alongside the likes of the Tour de France and Europe’s prestigious Spring Classics on the UCI WorldTour line-up.
To be staged from 27th to 29th January 2017, the popular race is being held next year in and around the City of Geelong. With some of Victoria’s most spectacular coastal scenery as its backdrop, the challenging race will start in Geelong, travel through Cadel’s home town of Barwon Heads and pass by Thirteenth Beach, Torquay, Bells Beach and the hills around Moriac, with the finish line on Geelong’s waterfront.
Mapei, which sponsored Evans for several years when he was on the UCI WorldTour, is a worldwide producer of adhesives, thinsets and sealants for buildings, with its products used extensively in sports facilities aroud the world.
