Mackay Regional Council champions the needs of the community
Mackay Regional Council has been recognised by the Queensland Spinal Injuries Association (QSIA) as a champion for creating an inclusive community.
In a special ceremony marking the QSIAâs 50th Anniversarn, Mackay Regional Council was honoured for providing equitable and accessible facilities and services in the region for all people.
Mackay Regional Council was awarded the Queensland Spinal Injuries Association Inclusive Community Champions Award for:
* Best Government Department or Agency for the Mackay City Library.
* Best Recreation/Leisure/Entertainment Venue or Precinct for Mackay Regional Councilâs Bluewater Trail.
The QSIA Inclusive Community Champions Awards are community driven with nominations from members of the local Spinal Injuries Association.
