Luna Park Sydney closes Wild Mouse ride for restoration
Luna Park Sydney has announced that it is to undertake a complete restoration of its historic Wild Mouse ride.
In a social media post, Luna Park Sydney advise “our dedicated team are ensuring that the Wild Mouse - which is one of three - that remains operational worldwide (and) will continue to bring joy and thrills for generations to come.”
The restoration will see the 60 year-old ride, the most popular ride at Luna Park, reopen as of the summer of 2024.
A rare gravity-fed rollercoaster, the Wild Mouse runs on a 400 metre long steel track built on a group of timber towers.
The original coaster style is called ‘Wild Cat’, with three signature ‘switchbacks’ followed by ‘bunny hop’ vertical hills.
