Luna Park Sydney’s biggest fan the focus of summer advertising campaign

Luna Park Sydney is using its 'biggest fan' as the key element of its summer advertising campaign.

Nine-year-old Alexander was cemented as the ‘world’s biggest fan’ of Luna Park after it was discovered that, without any prompting, he had created a detailed presentation of Luna Park Sydney for his primary school.

Acting on this, Luna Park Sydney engaged creative agency Common Venture to develop the promotional campaign.

Utilising the park’s ‘Just for fun’ platform, the campaign opens in Alexander’s bedroom, where he enthusiastically describes the theme park before concluding “there’s nothing better than the real thing”.

Transported to the theme park, the boy’s face lights up with joy.

Commenting on the campaign, Luna Park Sydney Head of Marketing, Michelle Rowling stated “the essence of Luna Park is more than just rides and amusements, it’s the overall feeling evoked by being there, it’s no easy feat to capture this in an ad but luckily we had the incredible Alexander to do it for us with his energy and vigour harnessed expertly by the Common Ventures team.”

Common Ventures Creative Director, James Crawley noted “agencies don’t always relish the last minute job moments before Christmas – but this was a pleasure.

“Alexander is a born performer and a wonderful ambassador for one of the happiest places in Sydney.”

The campaign is airing in 30 and 15 second cuts across television, digital and social media channels.
