Lorna Jane to open Active Living Lounge at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport

Leading Australian activewear brand, Lorna Jane, is to open an Active Living Lounge at the T2 Domestic airport terminal in Sydney.

Set to open on Saturday 14th November 2015, the Active Living Lounge will offer a healthy version of a traditional airport lounge, with a dedicated space for passengers to enjoy a yoga or strength session as well as the very latest in healthy treats from Australia’s most prominent health food providers, with healthy ‘on board picnics’ available as well as delicious sampling opportunities.

Lorna Jane Active Living Rewards Members will enjoy free access to the lounge area, and those that aren’t members can become a member free-of-charge at the Active Living Lounge. Classes are just $12 and will be hosted by some of Sydney’s very best instructors.

Lorna Jane founder and Chief Creative Officer, Lorna Jane Clarkson said the new offering, believed to be a world first, reflects the changing needs of today’s more health conscious traveller:

"People are more mindful of their health than ever before so it makes sense to bring our Active Living Room concept to Sydney’s T2 Domestic Terminal and provide passengers with the opportunity to put their health first, even when travelling."

Sydney Airport General Manager, Retail Glyn Williams stated "the Lorna Jane Active Living Room is a unique health and wellbeing offering that forms part of our T2 refresh strategy, designed to create an enhanced airport experience for passengers, visitors and staff. The new space will afford our passengers an opportunity to experience a greater sense of wellbeing within the airport environment.

“Concepts like the Lorna Jane Active Living Room directly address the growing needs of the modern traveller for an increase in healthy food options enhancing value and choice and we’re excited to have them on board.”

The Lorna Jane Active Living Room will be located in Sydney Airport’s T2 Departures.

In other news related to Lorna Jane, lawyers fro the active wear brand have denied that the company “fat shamed” a store manager who claims to be too traumatised to return to work.

Former store manager Amy Louise Robinson filed a $548,000 legal claim against the fitness retailer in Brisbane last month, claiming management tried to cover up the bullying and harassment she allegedly suffered from other staff.

But Lorna Jane's representatives hit back in a defence filed in the District Court, rejecting Robinson’s claim that she is too unwell to return to work.

The company argues that Robinson, has failed to return to work without a valid excuse, rejecting her claims it is responsible for her mental disorder and incapacitating haemorrhoids.

Robinson, who is a size 14, seeks compensation for pain and suffering over “offensive and demeaning remarks” about her weight.
